The Role

This is an outstanding opportunity to oversee the delivery of Australia’s premier national investigative current affairs television program, Four Corners, and associated digital content.

The ABC is looking for an Executive Producer to lead a talented team of reporters, researchers, and producers to deliver high-quality, compelling stories across television and digital platforms for Four Corners.

The Job

  • Lead editorial and creative direction for Four Corners across all platforms, maintaining the highest journalistic standards.
  • Drive the program’s vision, ensuring integrity, innovation, and audience engagement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and oversee content quality through regular reviews.
  • Build an inclusive, high-performing team that delivers outstanding investigative journalism.
  • Guide recruitment, training, performance, and workflow to support flexibility and excellence.
  • Uphold ABC values and ensure workplace safety and compliance.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and contracts efficiently, ensuring accountability and a safe, inclusive workplace.

About You

You will be a talented and highly experienced journalist with proven leadership skills, outstanding editorial judgement and relevant television and digital production experience. To be successful in this position, you will also have:

  • Senior journalist experience with strong leadership, editorial judgment, and experience in television and digital production.
  • Proven success in building and leading skilled, motivated, and collaborative teams.
  • Ability and experience in driving, managing and delivering high impact and complex investigations.
  • High level knowledge of all aspects of media law and experience liaising with in house and external legal teams
  • Ability to shape and deliver a creative vision that drives engaging, high-quality journalism.
  • Deep knowledge of national and international current affairs and innovative storytelling techniques.
  • Skilled in managing online content, social media, and audience engagement.
  • Experience in managing budgets, resources, and staff performance.
  • Commitment to authentic storytelling that reflects Australia’s cultural and community diversity.
