- Base salary $81K-$90K
- Bring the characters and stories of these communities to the ABC Audience
The Role
ABC Eyre Peninsula is based at Port Lincoln. The team works with a range of communities - from the Seafood Capital of Australia, primary producers, to seaside holiday towns - to tell their stories on radio, online, social media, and TV. In this role you’ll be living and working in a city with world class culinary offerings, just a short walk or drive from some of the most beautiful beaches in the country.
ABC South Australia is looking for an enthusiastic and talented reporter to create compelling news content across all platforms.
Reporting to the Editor, News reporters are vital in bringing the characters and stories of these communities to local and national audiences. The ways to tell these stories are ever-evolving; it could be a live cross into TV with overlay you filmed yourself, an online story on Australia’s most trusted news website, a carefully crafted radio package on PM, a short piece in a radio news bulletin you’re presenting live or a long form Youtube video.
The size of the team means you have support to pursue stories you’re passionate about, but also ample opportunity to step up and take a lead on breaking stories in the area – of which there are plenty!

- Producing accurate, concise and clear stories for radio, television, online and social media for local, state and national audiences.
- Presenting radio news bulletins, participate in Q&As, conduct interviews and create radio packages.
