About the Role
Our Publicity & Events team is seeking a Publicist to join our national Publicity team. Reporting to the Publicity Manager, you’ll lead the planning and execution of innovative campaigns to promote ABC’s content. Working at pace across multiple projects, you’ll manage internal and external stakeholders, including on-air talent and production partners, ensuring every campaign is delivered with impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of national publicity campaigns as part of integrated marketing strategies.
- Manage multiple internal and external stakeholders, including on-air talent, production companies, media, and event partners.
- Coordinate interviews, appearances, photo shoots, events, and digital initiatives to maximise audience engagement.
- Produce and distribute press kits, media releases, photography, and digital assets to support content promotion.
- Monitor audience and media trends to ensure campaigns are relevant, innovative, and impactful.

About You
You are a highly organised, structured communicator with exceptional verbal and written skills, able to work autonomously while thriving in a collaborative, high-performing team. You can see the bigger picture and think strategically, but you’re equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves to deliver. You have proven experience managing multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced, matrix environment, and a track record of driving publicity campaigns that generate real audience engagement.
What You’ll Bring:
- Strong problem-solving and reputational management, able to prioritise and resolve complex challenges under pressure.
- Highly organised with excellent project, time, and deadline management skills.
- Experienced in managing stakeholders, including internal teams, production partners, and on-screen talent.
- Tertiary qualifications or extensive publicity experience, ideally in media, entertainment, or broadcasting, including emerging platforms.
- Established media contacts highly regarded.
