We’re looking for a Reporter who can confidently create high-quality, multi-platform news content that engages local, state and national audiences. In this role, you’ll be part of a small, collaborative team producing breaking news, original journalism and compelling stories that reflect the diversity of the community. You’ll work across radio, digital and TV. Help shape the editorial direction of the bureau through strong news sense, community engagement, and creative storytelling.
- Produce and present news bulletins, interviews, Q&As and multi-platform stories, including breaking news.
- Generate original story ideas and contribute to planning discussions that support strong audience engagement.
- Identify, develop and share local content that resonates with regional, state and national audiences.
- Build strong community relationships to uncover stories that reflect the diversity of the region.
- Work collaboratively within the Kalgoorlie news team and apply ABC editorial values in all work.
You’re an adaptable, curious journalist who loves connecting with communities and finding stories others miss.
- A proven ability to produce high-quality original and breaking content for multiple platforms.
- Strong editorial judgement and the ability to analyse and synthesise information quickly.
- A current valid Driver’s Licence is essential.
