Are you a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse seeking a rewarding opportunity in a unique setting? Kimba Hospital is looking for passionate nurses to join our committed team in providing exceptional, patient-centered care to our rural and remote community.

At Kimba Hospital, you will be more than just a healthcare provider—you will be a vital part of a community-oriented team. Our mission is to deliver safe, patient-centered nursing care to children, youth, women, and their families with diverse cultural backgrounds and multiple complexities.

In this role, you will provide nursing and/or midwifery services within the health service to patients/clients on a shift-by-shift basis. You will assess individual patient/client needs, plan, implement and/or coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options including other disciplines or agencies.

Two ongoing part time vacancies are available, each working 0.8FTE 64hrs per fortnight. 

What we're looking for:

  • You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.
  • Demonstrating sound knowledge and an understanding of the role of the Registered Nurse/Midwife within a health care setting, you will bring the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • You will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a health care setting, displaying a commitment to providing consumer and family-centred care.
  • Strong communication skills including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills

Kimba Hospital is a 20-bed facility, including eight inpatient beds, eight aged care beds, and two Emergency Department beds. The hospital provides a range of services including emergency, general medicine, post-surgical care, basic x-ray, rehabilitation and palliative care. Our Accident and emergency is a 24- hour service.
