About the Opportunity

Multiple exciting opportunities exist within the Central Early Childhood and Families Service (CECFS) to join us as an Occupational Therapist (AHP2).

In this role, you will:

  • Provide an occupational therapy service to children aged 0-4 years within a multidisciplinary team that also includes a speech pathology service.
  • Provide accurate assessment and evaluation of clients with a range of developmental delays by using standardised and informal assessment tools.
  • Prioritise and organise a large, complex caseload under limited direction. 
  • Interpret assessment results to form an accurate understanding of the issues arising for the child and their family.
  • Participate in a multi-disciplinary team to plan, identify and address quality client management programs.
  • Be based in an office location in North Adelaide, and see children at outreach locations: Lockleys Children's Centre, Parks Children's Centre, Woodville CaFHS, Adelaide CaFHS (please note, the CECFS team is only co-located at these sites, and the team is not a part of the CaFHS service or Children's Centre site service).

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • An appropriate degree or equivalent qualification, which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a complex and varied workload including individual and group work in the early childhood (0-4 years of age) field.
  • knowledge of child development principles. 
  • Experience working with the application of attachment theory to therapeutic individual and group programs.
  • Previous experience working with vulnerable children and their families.
  • Knowledge of the social determinants of health and their implications for service delivery.
