Transforming Mental Health Care: Clinical Nurse - Clozapine Coordinator Wanted

About the role: 

Reporting to the Team Manager & Nurse Consultant, this role will oversee the Nurse-Led Clozapine program; support primary clinicians to develop their capacity to manage clients on Clozapine; and support the continuum of care for consumers on Clozapine including health promotion access. Duties for the role will include:

  • Provide proficient, person centred, clinical nursing/midwifery care and/or individual case management to patients/clients in a defined clinical area, 
  • Required to contribute to a wider or external team working on complex or organisation wide projects such as clinical protocols, guidelines and/or process mapping,
  • Working with individuals where there are multiple complexities and diverse cultural backgrounds,
  • Recognising and responding to clinical deterioration or other incidents and escalating appropriately,
  • Providing evidenced based care, developing clinical skills while keeping up to date with professional standards of practice and quality management initiatives consistent,
  • Training and experience with working with consumers who are on the Clozapine Program

About you:

  • Registered as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds a current practicing certificate. Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice,
  • Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses,
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience,
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines, whilst working under minimal supervision
