About the Role

The Limestone Coast Local Health Network is excited to announce the opening of a new 6-bed Mental Health Sub-Acute and Rehabilitation Service (MHSARS). We are seeking an experienced and passionate Team Leader to coordinate and lead this new service, providing pivotal clinical and operational leadership within our multidisciplinary team.

In this position, you will manage and inspire your local mental health team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. You will work closely with both government and non-government service providers to ensure continuity and quality of care, making a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.

You will be accountable for your practice standards and the development of less experienced staff, guiding them in accordance with the National Mental Health Policy and the Standards for Mental Health Services. Your leadership will be instrumental in delivering high-quality consumer care, addressing any inconsistencies between practice and policy, and cultivating a positive work environment that prioritises consumer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based, recovery-oriented care for consumers within the new 6-bed unit.

  • Line management, supervision, and mentorship of staff, ensuring a positive work culture and high standards of practice.

  • Collaborate with consumers, carers, lived experience workforce, and a range of government and non-government service providers to achieve continuity and quality of care.

  • Develop and implement clinical protocols, care planning, and service redesign in line with the LCLHN Mental Health Model of Care.

  • Manage service demand, workload allocation, and discharge planning.

  • Ensure compliance with National Mental Health Policy, Standards for Mental Health Services, and LCLHN’s Vision and Values.

  • Support professional development and supervision of staff and students.

  • Participate in quality improvement, risk management, and clinical governance activities.

See role description for qualifications.
