About the role

Shape the future of child and adolescent mental health at WCHN. We seek senior clinicians in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, and nursing to lead care, mentor teams, and improve outcomes for young people and families.

Key duties of the role

  • Provide clinical leadership and expert knowledge to multidisciplinary staff to implement consistency of practice standards and local service outcomes
  • Contribute clinical expertise in a learning environment
  • Responsible for individual development and education
  • Contributing to Research and Evaluation Programs
  • Provide, contribute, and deliver proficient Mental Health clinical care to clients and their families using evidence-based practice.

Skills and Experience

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Australia OR
  • Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers OR
  • Must hold an appropriate degree in Psychology or equivalent qualification recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia. Must hold general registration with Psychology Board of Australia and be endorsed in clinical psychology. Must hold approved supervisor status with the Psychology Board of Australia at all levels of supervision (primary and secondary) OR
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate, enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or holds a qualification in mental health practice.
  • Extensive clinical experience in the delivery of mental health occupational therapy, psychology services, or social work practices to children and adolescents, with advanced clinical experience in the delivery of at least one clinical modality relevant to Child and Adolescent Mental Health OR
  • Demonstrated competence in delivering proficient and comprehensive mental health nursing assessment and direct clinical services to children, young people and their families experiencing complex, acute or chronic mental illness/ trauma or a wide range of emotional and behavioural disturbance.
