About the role: 

Reporting to the Service Manager, this role is responsible for collaborative planning, development, implementation and evaluation of paediatric Speech Pathology neurodevelopmental services, provided to children who are referred to the Children's Assessment Team

Duties for the role will include:

  • Provision of effective speech pathology assessment, diagnosis, education and counselling that is strongly grounded in the best available evidence,
  • Multidisciplinary diagnostic formulation
  • Initiation and participation in quality, safety and research activities to ensure service aligns with best practice standards
  • Participate in ongoing professional development e.g., ADOS training, attendance at relevant conferences and workshops, reading professional journals, texts and attending grand rounds,
  • Please note the role description calls for accreditation in ASD, however this is no longer an essential requirement and rather candidates will be considered based on their experience 

About you:

  • An appropriate Degree in Speech Pathology or other appropriate qualification giving eligibility for full Membership of Speech Pathology Australia,
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills across all levels of service provision,
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines,
  • Previous experience in assessment and management of paediatric neurodevelopmental disorders,
  • Broad based post-graduate experience with paediatric patients with complex needs,
  • Experience in the effective development, implementation and evaluation of Quality Improvement and service delivery development programs,
