The Principal Project Manager is a key member of the Projects Team within the Rural Support Service (RSS), reporting directly to the Director of Projects and Partnerships. This role leads strategic program and project management across a range of clinical services and portfolios, providing high-level planning, policy analysis and governance oversight to support quality and safety improvement initiatives, clinical service planning and clinical governance across regional South Australia.

Working closely with the Director of Projects and Partnerships, Chief Clinical Advisor, RSS Directors, Medical Advisors, Clinical Managers and the RSS Medical Advisory Forum, the role supports regional Local Health Networks (LHNs) to achieve their strategic and clinical objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and uphold SA Health values, including respect for Aboriginal cultures and diverse communities.

  • Support audit processes, risk management and disaster preparedness activities as required.

  • Are you an experienced senior project leader with a proven track record managing complex, large-scale clinical programs?
  • Do you have strong strategic planning, policy analysis and governance expertise?
  • Can you confidently manage sensitive and politically complex initiatives while providing high-level advice to executive stakeholders?
  • Are you skilled in stakeholder engagement, consultation and building collaborative partnerships across diverse sectors?
  • Do you demonstrate strong financial acumen and experience managing significant project resources and delegations?

About RSS

The RSS is a business unit in SA Health and provides services throughout regional South Australia to support the six regional local health networks (LHNs). It employs around 260 people who work in 37 regional, rural and remote SA locations, or in the RSS’s three Adelaide offices.
