Join our Cardiology Team at SALHN

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Trainee Cardiac Physiologist. Under supervision, you will be trained to provide essential cardiac testing services to both in-patients and outpatients. This role offers the opportunity to develop a range of skills in non-invasive cardiac diagnostics, including routine and more complex testing procedures such as echocardiography.

About the role: 

Duties for the role will include:

  • Assisting with more complex cardiac diagnostic testing, including exercise testing, pacemaker follow-up, and echocardiography.
  • Contributing to the upkeep of clinic testing areas and ensuring adequate supplies are available.
  • Undertaking routine testing such as ECG, and Holter and BP monitoring.
  • Providing a professional and supportive environment from which the patient can receive the best service possible.
  • Being aware of the patient’s situation and by observing and identifying changes in that condition, taking appropriate action to provide the support necessary.
  • Contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers.

About you:

  • Willingness to learn Echocardiography
  • Meet the requirements for enrolment in post graduate cardiac sonography to allow eligibility for accreditation by the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry.
  • Ability to learn and conduct a range of non-invasive cardiac investigations.
  • Ability to provide a high standard of patient care.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Possess an understanding and empathy towards the hospitals older patient population.
  • Ability to work within a small work intense area, including senior specialists attached to the area.
