About the role

The CAMHS Service Manager – North/South Metropolitan provides operational and governance leadership across multidisciplinary child and adolescent mental health teams within WCHN, managing resources, driving best-practice service delivery, and contributing expert advice to the CAMHS Executive on statewide service direction.

Key duties of the role

APH4:

  • Maintaining and improving client care procedures and practices to implement consistency of practice standards and local service outcomes for infants, children, adolescents, and their families with mental health issues.
  • Ensure the effective management of human, physical, financial, and administrative resources, while supporting staff development to maintain high-quality clinical skills.
  • Lead intersectoral and interagency service development, ensure culturally responsive and consumer-centred care, and maintain professional registration and development standards.
  • Contribute to the development of Child and Adolescent Mental Health plans while maintaining ongoing professional development and continuing education.
  • Implement and coordinate quality management and risk frameworks across the unit while fostering a positive culture and safe work environment.

Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Pathology with full registration or professional membership eligibility
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience within a multidisciplinary mental health or community health setting
  • Proven experience in human resource, financial, and asset management
  • Strong knowledge of relevant state and commonwealth legislation, WHS frameworks, and quality improvement standards
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families, including Aboriginal and CALD communities

RN4:

Key duties of the role:

  • Lead designated multidisciplinary CAMHS teams to drive service improvement, ensure quality client-centred care, and contribute to WCHN and SA Health strategic planning.
  • Lead quality improvement, risk management, clinical protocol development, and organisational change to meet emerging service and workforce needs.
  • Maintain a contemporary professional practice portfolio, contribute to postgraduate teaching and professional publications, and foster a coaching-focused learning environment to support team and individual development.
  • Lead and contribute to research and systems development activities to improve multidisciplinary practice and service outcomes.
  • Provide expert consultancy and authoritative advice to state and national stakeholders, lead changes to models of care, and represent CAMHS in workgroups and programs that extend beyond the immediate service area.

Skills and Experience

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate, and enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or holds a qualification in mental health practice.
  • Minimum 3 years post-registration experience in a mental health, child and adolescent, or community health setting
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and change management skills with the ability to work autonomously at a senior level
  • Experience in human resource, financial, and asset management within a health service
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, industrial agreements, standards, codes, ethics, competency standards, and the Australian National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
