About the Role

Join South Australia Medical Imaging (SAMI) as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist and bring your expertise to a specialised, patient-focused imaging service. You’ll apply advanced techniques to perform complex molecular imaging and theranostic procedures using specialised Nuclear Medicine equipment, working with minimal professional direction to support high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic outcomes. You’ll also contribute to research and departmental quality assurance programs, helping maintain high standards of clinical practice and service delivery.

Working within a skilled multidisciplinary team, you’ll collaborate with Nuclear Medicine Technologists, Radiographers, Nuclear Medicine Physicians, scientists, nurses, technical and clerical staff to provide coordinated patient care. You’ll also provide professional direction and support to fellow technologists, new graduates and students, sharing your knowledge while contributing to their clinical learning and development.

About You

You are a skilled and adaptable Nuclear Medicine Technologist who brings strong clinical judgement, technical expertise and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care. You work confidently both independently and within multidisciplinary teams, while supporting colleagues and students to achieve excellent clinical outcomes.

• Hold an appropriate Medical Radiation degree and required registration
• Demonstrate expertise in complex molecular imaging and theranostic procedures
• Apply strong clinical judgement, communication and multidisciplinary teamwork
• Support quality improvement while guiding technologists, staff and students

The role also requires the relevant licences, or eligibility to obtain them, for handling radioactive material and operating specified radiation apparatus. Experience requirements include complex molecular imaging and theranostic procedures, patient preparation and care for therapy procedures, assessment of work quality and practical application of quality improvement protocols.
