About the role

The Advanced Senior Psychologist provides expert clinical and professional leadership in child and adolescent mental health, delivering specialised forensic psychological services to young people involved in the youth justice system. The role provides advanced assessment, intervention, clinical supervision and leadership across multidisciplinary and interagency teams, including liaison with Youth Court and youth justice services

Key duties of the role

• Provide, contribute and deliver proficient Mental Health clinical care to clients and their families using evidence-based practice.
• Demonstrate a commitment to consumer participation and effective team leadership while ensuring services are delivered in a culturally responsive and inclusive manner.
• Provide forensic and clinical psychology leadership and expert knowledge to multidisciplinary staff for to implement consistency of practice standards and local service outcomes
• Contribute expertise in all aspects of quality management to improve clinical psychology and service delivery
• Encourage and foster a positive and safe work environment while contributing clinical expertise within a supportive learning environment.
• Responsible for supporting individual development and education while contributing to research and evaluation programs.

Skills and Experience

• Master of Psychology (Clinical or Forensic) or equivalent qualification recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia
• General registration with AHPRA Psychology Board of Australia and approved supervisor status at all supervision levels
• Extensive clinical and forensic experience delivering psychology services to children and adolescents with complex mental health needs
• Advanced knowledge in at least one area of clinical practice relevant to Child and Adolescent Mental Health
• Demonstrated knowledge of the theory and practice of clinical work within the individual’s professional speciality area, including group work
