About the role: 

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, as the Assistant in Nursing (AIN) you will support Enrolled and Registered Nurses in the delivery of general patient care and undertake basic nursing duties that would otherwise have been performed by an Enrolled or Registered Nurse. Duties for the role will include:

  • Assist nurses in routine tasks with patients/clients associated with the activities of daily living,
  • Participation in quality improvement activities through recording and reporting of data,
  • Assists patients with decreased mobility and implementation of falls prevention measures,
  • Performs a range of duties that require basic skills, knowledge, training and experience,
  • Provides one on one conversations and activities to support patients to be comfortable at all times 

About you:

  • Seeking undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing students, or those currently undertaking an Enrolled Nursing diploma,
  • Proof of successful completion of first year Bachelor of Nursing and enrolment in second year in a recognised tertiary facility or enrolled in recognised EN training program,
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills,
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment,
  • Caring for patients in a healthcare setting

Please Note: Need to be available to work across a 7-day roster; positions offered at a minimum of 2 shifts per week (.42FTE) with the option to work extra shifts if available. Position inclusive of night duty.
