About the position 

This role contributes to the operational effectiveness of the Graduate Research School as a member of the centrally located operations team managing the complete candidature lifecycle, including graduate research examinations and providing expert advice to prospective and current candidates, supervisors, Graduate Research Coordinators and Directors, and other stakeholders. 

Skills and Experience 

To be considered for this position, you will have 

• Completion of a relevant qualification combined with work experience or equivalent work experience. 

• Demonstrated depth or breadth of expertise developed through relevant experience and application. 

• Demonstrated ability to gain a conceptual understanding of relevant policies, procedures or systems and interpretation in the application of policy and/or precedent.  

• Ability to innovate and take responsibility for outcomes.  

• Demonstrated ability to set priorities and monitor workflows within own area of responsibility.  

• Demonstrated capacity to organise work effectively and efficiently and deliver outputs in a timely manner.  

• Demonstrated ability to work independently, follow established procedures with limited supervision and contribute positively to an effective team. 

• Proven ability to work as a member of a team in a very busy and dynamic environment.  

• Demonstrated flexibility and capacity to develop and work with new processes and systems. 

• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated customer service focus, solution orientated approach.  

• Ability to develop excellent working relationships with colleagues, candidates and other stakeholders.  

• High level proficiency in computer software packages including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and electronic mail.
