La Trobe University is seeking an outstanding academic to join the Department of Sport, Exercise and Nutrition Sciences at either the Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) level in Sport Analytics and Data Science. About the Roles:
You will contribute to the design and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Sport and Exercise Science, with a particular focus on our flagship Master of Sport Analytics. You will also conduct high-quality research and help build La Trobe’s reputation as a global leader in sport analytics.
- The Lecturer (Level B) will focus on teaching excellence, research contribution, and supervision of Honours and Masters students, with support to develop leadership skills.
- The Senior Lecturer (Level C) will have a stronger leadership profile, leading curriculum development, supervising research students across all levels, securing external research funding, and contributing to discipline leadership at La Trobe.
Key Requirements for Both Roles:
- A PhD in Sport and Exercise Science or a related field relevant to the role.
- Expertise in sport analytics, performance analysis, data science, statistics, and research methods.
- Proficiency in R and/or Python.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, curriculum design, and research.
- A collegial and inclusive approach to academic collaboration and leadership.
- A commitment to La Trobe’s values of diversity, inclusion, and social impact.
Additional for Senior Lecturer:
- A strong track record of securing external research funding.
- Evidence of leading curriculum innovation and research supervision.
- National or international recognition for expertise in the field.
