La Trobe University is seeking an outstanding leader to join our Advancement team as Director, Alumni and Supporter Engagement. This is a pivotal role driving strategy, engagement, and innovation to connect our global alumni community and supporters with the University’s mission and impact.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, you will:

  • Lead the development and execution of sector-leading alumni and supporter engagement strategies.
  • Play a key role in the public phase of our “Make Your Impact” campaign, aiming to exceed $200M by 2027.
  • Oversee a high-performing team of 13, including four direct reports, and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Build and nurture relationships with senior stakeholders across the University, including Deans, Advancement leaders, and external partners.
  • Deliver flagship events and bespoke donor experiences, and drive continuous improvement in engagement programs.
  • Champion La Trobe’s values of Connectedness, Innovation, Accountability, and Care.

About You

You are a strategic, collaborative leader with:

  • Extensive experience in alumni relations and advancement, with experience of major philanthropic campaigns highly regarded
  • A proven track record of leading high-performing teams and delivering innovative engagement programs.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
  • A commitment to diversity, inclusion, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Experience with data-driven engagement and evaluation tools.
