About the position
The School of Nursing and Midwifery at La Trobe University offers a wide range of teaching and research programs in Nursing, Midwifery, and related fields. With strong clinical partnerships in major Melbourne hospitals, the school provides hands-on clinical experience and supports innovative education and research. It is recognised both nationally and internationally for excellence in nursing and midwifery education and research, with programs designed to foster practice change and staff development.
Key responsibilities will include providing academic leadership through coordination of courses, designing and teaching high-quality, innovative curricula for undergraduate, honours and postgraduate students and mentoring colleagues in curriculum development and teaching delivery. The position also involves conducting and leading impactful research, publishing findings, supervising research students, securing research funding, and contributing to a strong research culture at La Trobe. Additional duties include representing the school at external events and managing relevant leadership and administrative tasks.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have completed a PhD or recognised equivalent, demonstrated excellence and commitment in curriculum development and teaching, proven leadership at program or research group level, and a strong record of mentoring and supervising students across undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate levels.
You should also exhibit the ability to foster students’ intellectual growth and career aspirations, have a history of successful research student supervision, and maintain a robust portfolio of impactful research publications.
