About the position

The Law School delivers undergraduate programs in Law and Criminology, including double degrees, across its Bundoora and Bendigo campuses, as well as postgraduate offerings such as the Juris Doctor, Masters by research, and PhD. Its programs are designed to prepare students for professional practice through a strong emphasis on practical experience, supported by industry partnerships and a commitment to ethical and professional standards.

As a Senior Lecturer, the role involves providing leadership in teaching and learning through the delivery of high-quality, engaging instruction across a range of formats, and contributing to the design, review, and continuous improvement of curriculum. The position also requires an established research profile, with responsibility for producing high-quality publications, securing research funding, and fostering collaborations with industry, community, and government to generate impact and contribute to law reform.

 

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have

  • PhD degree or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the relevant discipline areas.
  • Primary degree in law at undergraduate or graduate level.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, curriculum development and subject coordination, with a commitment to excellence in teaching, as evidenced by sustained high results on student feedback on teaching surveys, teaching excellence awards or through other forms of evidence.
  • Ability to mentor and supervise undergraduate, honours and postgraduate students.
