The Star Brisbane is Australia’s newest entertainment hub at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct. The first phase is now open, with more venues and experiences on the way. As the Emergency & Security Planning Manager, you will be responsible for improving precinct-wide safety by developing operational plans for major events and implementing emergency preparedness strategies. Your expertise will be vital in mitigating risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of safety throughout our organisation.
A few of your responsibilities:
- Develop, coordinate and deliver emergency readiness training programs, exercises and activities to enhance organisational response capabilities and resilience, and ensure personnel are prepared to respond effectively to critical incidents.
- Ensure Emergency Management documents and plans are developed and maintained in accordance with legislative requirements, industry best practices and organisational risk strategies.
- Work closely with the Asset Protection Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement robust Anti-Terrorism treatment plans and strategies.
- Continuously monitor and analyse emerging security threats and intelligence to ensure proactive risk mitigation and informed decision-making while fostering strategic relationships with relevant agencies to enhance organisational resilience and response capabilities.
- Compile relevant and appropriate monthly reports and ensure all data and information is accurate.
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience in Emergency and/or Risk Management preferably in the casino/integrated resort industry.
- Current QLD Security License (Desirable), Current First Aid Certificate, Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), & Responsible Service of Gambling (RSG).
- Solid understanding of relevant casino acts e.g. Casino Control Act, Qld Liquor Act, Security Providers Act, and QLD Criminal Code
- Demonstrated experience in planning and resourcing people, developing productive relationships, and managing & driving change.
