THE POSITION

Mobilisation Period:

  • Work cohesively with the project team to assist in the development of cleaning and waste related schedules and undertake all relevant planning requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders to foster collaboration and ensure project success.
  • Attend regular meetings and workshops to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure that all stakeholders are fully informed.
  • Provide support and guidance to project team members and stakeholders to ensure that they have the necessary resources and information to support the project.

Operations:

  • Lead and manage a team of cleaning supervisors and staff, ensuring high performance and efficiency.
  • Ensure all cleaning and waste tasks across the hospital precinct meet safety, quality, and timeliness standards.
  • Prioritise and allocate urgent/reactive work in coordination with the Environmental Services Manager.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to maintain cleaning standards and drive continuous improvement.
  • Enforce Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) compliance and promote a strong safety and quality culture within the team.
  • Provide training and refresher sessions on cleaning procedures, standard operating procedures, and best practices.
  • Manage cleaning supply inventory and assist with administrative duties, including scheduling, reporting, and performance reviews.
  • Facilitate daily toolbox meetings to share updates, address safety concerns, and respond to operational changes.

THE PERSON

  • Experience within a commercial cleaning environment, including equipment & materials used, as well as methodologies and approaches to commercial cleaning tasks.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, including infection control policies and procedures is highly desirable.
  • Capable of recommending and demonstrating cleaning methodologies in order to produce best results, through best practice.  
  • Proficient computer skills and any experience with QFM and iClean is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience supervising operational teams with a collaborative management style.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety issues.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to manage relationships at various organisational levels.
