Head Chef

  • Full time role working predominantly Monday to Friday with some weekends for events during the year.
  • Leadership opportunity for someone with experience leading hospitality teams in an educational environment

THE POSITION

  • Oversee a multifaceted catering operation, delivering everything from refined daily meals to large-scale, high-end functions and special events. 
  • Plan, supervise, and monitor the food production across residential, retail, functions and events activity across campuses
  • Maintain the highest standards of food quality and presentation
  • Lead, develop and inspire a team of culinary talents
  • Actively maintain a high standard of food safety, HACCP, allergen awareness, and OHS
  • Oversee inventory, procurement, cost control and minimize food wastage
  • Hands-on leadership, mentoring, and team development

THE PERSON

  • Hold Chef’s Trade Qualifications, with a strong passion for culinary excellence.
  • An experienced and creative chef with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional food experiences.
  • Thrives in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with excellent organisational skills.
  • Possesses strong leadership abilities, capable of effectively managing and inspiring a team.
  • Dedicated to maintaining the highest culinary standards while embracing innovation and food trends.
  • Has a proactive, client-focused attitude and a drive for delivering superior results.
  • Ability to obtain or have a valid working with children's check
  • Experience leading hospitality teams in an educational setting
