What You’ll Do

The Trading Officer supports the Racing teams in monitoring and adjusting prices for all betting events and assisting with the risk management of books to provide general operational support to the trading business.

  • Accurate processing of account customer bets via bet intercept, ensuring adherence to customer profile limits and delegation limits
  • Retail management
  • Overseeing sold bets and communicating potential outliers
  • Liability management (communicate and escalate as required)
  • Timely and accurate settlement of markets
  • Execution of manual scratchings and refunds as required
  • Manipulation of trading models to maintain accurate pricing, as per trading guidelines (inc Rubix Racing and Sports, Sporting Solutions)
  • Execution of the receipt and response to phone, email queries from key internal stakeholders such as SSC, Raceday, VIP, Granville and Brisbane Call Centre and acting as the conduit for the Trading team

The role is casual on a rotating roster to support 24/7 operations. Availability to work shifts throughout the days, nights and weekends is required.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to effectively interpret relevant information from multiple sources simultaneously

We are looking for someone who loves racing and numbers. A background in maths/statistics would provide an advantage, however is not a necessity for the role. Critical to your success in this role will be your robust numerical skills, your ability to communicate effectively – both written and verbal – and the capability to process large amounts of information and make key decisions in a timely fashion. An understanding of wagering, Tabcorp and its competitors would be highly advantageous.
