What you’ll do

The Senior Corporate Lawyer is a senior legal role in the General Counsel Business Operations – Gaming Services (GS) team and acts as a senior legal advisor on a broad range of matters across the GS business including contentious legal work (e.g., general commercial, contractual and regulatory) and non-contentious.

Working closely with the Deputy General Counsel – GS and the General Counsel – Business Operations in the effective and timely delivery of high-quality legal services with minimum supervision and assisting with the supervision of Corporate Lawyers in the team. 

You’ll also be advising on complex and strategic matters within the team’s portfolio, and you’ll be expected to proactively identify legal issues and risks and help develop commercial solutions that balance risk with the organisation’s overall legal strategy

What you’ll bring

  • Degree qualified in Law and admitted as a solicitor in QLD and/or NSW and/or VIC.
  • A minimum of 5 years legal experience in-house or in private practice, with an advanced legal skillset.
  • Ability to work autonomously and have the capability to guide and help develop team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide commercially focused legal services through strong communication, negotiation, influencing and drafting skills.
  • Experience with highly regulated business is preferable and strong drafting skills and/or litigation experience is highly desirable.
