Mine Planning Engineer – 3 Month Planning

Site - Cloudbreak
We are currently seeking highly motivated Mine Planning Engineer to join our site based planning team on a 4/3 roster. Reporting to the Senior Medium Term Planning Engineer, this role is responsible for carrying out various ranges of design and planning activities to support production at Cloudbreak Mine. To be successful in this role candidates must have strong interpersonal skills with proven operational and planning experience (Daily and 2 weeks) and being able to articulate potential risks and opportunities within the planned works.
Key accountabilities will include:
Optimise and deliver operational pit designs and related infrastructure designs to maximise the value of the mining business
Scheduling mining and other associate activities to varied planning horizons
Timely delivery of plans and schedules to meet internal delivery timelines
Costing of mine plans for use in budgeting and forecasting activities
Liaise with support functions, including Approvals, Geology, Geotechnical and Hydrogeology, to understand risk and opportunities to the operation and to enable timely achievement of mining milestones
Assessment of mining methodology options for both cost and productivity metrics
Communicating options, designs and plans with relevant stakeholders
Delivering product quality, pit progression, waste schedules, fleet requirements and other technical guidance as required
Identify risk and opportunities to the work produced
Qualifications and skills required:
Relevant experience gained as a mining engineer (minimum 6 years)
Strong short-term planning skills (2 Weeks, 3M), 2YP experience will be advantage,
Bachelor degree in Mining Engineering or similar
Practical approach to engineering and design problems
Knowledge in open pit mining preferably in iron ore
Strong mine design knowledge
Computer proficiency (Excel, Vulcan, ATS, Haul Infinity, Rapid Reserver).
Strong analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills with both operations and technical teams
Team orientation and strong ability to take initiative
