St Paul’s College VMCH (Prep to Year 12) seeks to employ a dynamic and experienced education leader into the role of Deputy Principal. This position will assist the principal and staff achieve the college’s vision, mission, and values. It is an exceptional opportunity to lead best practice in a ‘teaching, learning and instructional leader’ role at the College. Key responsibilities
- Work with the principal to oversee management of day-to-day operations of the College.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of whole school curriculum including the ABLES Supplementary Victorian Assessment Curriculum, Augmented Victorian Curriculum, Lesson plans, Scope and Sequence, Individual Learning Plans, NCCD, Individual Behaviour Support Plans.
- Coordinate, in partnership with Holmesglen TAFE, vocational programs related to post-school placement.
- Implement strategies to support the College to meet the key goals defined in the School Strategic Plan and Annual Implementation Plans.
- Communicate with key stakeholder groups in the community including staff, students, parents/carers, community members and external professionals to support the development of strong home/school/community partnerships.
- Supervise and support teacher assistants, volunteers and others assigned in the classroom
- Coordinate, supervise, and support the work of Classroom teams and the Allied Health Therapy Team
- Liaise with the Committee Working Group’s Chairs and attend Committee meetings
- Oversee the formulation, implementation, and review of educational programs across the school
- Comply with all VMCH Quality policies, procedures, and relevant legislation
- Observe and comply with VMCH child safe principles and expectations for appropriate behaviour towards, and in the company of, children and young persons
- Contribute to continual improvement process’, systems and workplace health and safety
About you
- The successful candidate will present as a highly accomplished and experienced educator. An established leader in who is committed to making a significant contribution to the continuing growth and development of teaching and learning at St Paul’s College.
- Registration with Victoria Institute of Teaching (VIT).
- Have proven experience of successful team leadership and expertise in meeting the needs of students with disabilities across the Special Education delivery of ABLES, the Victorian Curriculum, Structured Learning and across Positive Behaviours Framework.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively, proactively, and professionally with colleagues, parents, carers, school learning support officers and all other stakeholders involved.
- Be future focused, with high expectations of self and others, understanding that for each of our students every moment of learning matters.
- Recognise St Paul’s College as a community of learning by modelling and nurturing a culture of growth, rigors, and curiosity for all students.
