The Student Experience branch is responsible for providing services that deliver an excellent student experience. This includes administrative and support services to students as well as service to, and partnership with, academic staff in the development of a high-quality, engaging and relevant learning environment.
Student Life deliver efficient and responsive student services that contribute to the overall student experience. Student Life is responsible for consistent enquiry management and non-academic support and advice throughout the student lifecycle in relation to wellbeing, accommodation, grievances and complaints and specialised international student services. The Student Life unit includes International Student Support, Student Wellbeing and Access, Student Affairs and Accommodation Service.
Working under general direction, the Wellbeing Project Officer supports the delivery of projects that aim to support student mental health, wellbeing and safety in line with the Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy. The incumbent is required to coordinate various campaigns and initiatives to ensure the successful delivery of relevant events. This is a dynamic role ideal for someone who understands student wellbeing needs, enjoys fast-paced project work, working collaboratively, and creating positive wellbeing experiences through creative campaigns, events, and digital content.
To be successful you will need:
- Proven experience in understanding student wellbeing, developing resources and coordinating events in support of wellbeing projects utilising a health promotion approach.
- Demonstrated program and event coordination skills including, planning, community consultation, evaluation and implementation.
- Ability to exercise creativity and enthusiasm in the development of new initiatives in collaboration with a range of stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, analytical and negotiation skills, including the capacity to develop strong working relationships across the University and community sector.
- Demonstrated capacity to work with staff and students from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of the Australian tertiary sector and, in particular, a good understanding of the issues facing domestic and international students.
This position requires a valid Working with Children Check.
