About the Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Head of Technology Strategy and Business Design to join our Operations & Technology Group. Reporting to the  Chief Operating and Technology Officer (COTO) and participating in the Operations and Technology Senior Leadership Team (O&T SLT), this critical role will enable our vision by managing the Technology Strategy and Business Design Portfolio.

Specifically, you will be responsible for developing the IT strategy and business architecture framework to enable WorkCover's strategy and roadmap, leading the business planning process and ongoing monitoring of outcomes for the O&T Division, and leveraging enterprise change delivery capabilities and governance frameworks to drive business value through transformation initiatives, continuous improvement projects, and BAU outcomes.

 

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Oversee transformation, continuous improvement initiatives, and BAU outcomes, ensuring alignment with timeframes, budgets, quality standards, and expected benefits.
  • Guide the development and implementation of governance frameworks, policies, business architecture, and process improvements to support strategic objectives.
  • Define the business and process architecture, identifying opportunities for improvements to deliver strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with O&T SLT peers to identify and develop technology and business capabilities, and implement roadmaps for preferred approaches.
  • Lead the annual business planning process for O&T, ensuring alignment with WorkCover's strategy, roadmap, and capability strategy.
  • Review EPMO, operational reporting, and identify improvement and capability uplift requirements within O&T.
  • Define strategic performance measures, service levels, and operational performance reporting for the Technology Strategy & Business Design Portfolio.
  • Actively contribute to the O&T SLT, fostering alignment, team connection, and successful delivery of initiatives and outcomes.

With a proven track record in technology strategy, business architecture, and operational excellence, you possess exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management capabilities. Your ability to drive transformational change, foster continuous improvement, and align technology and business capabilities with organisational goals will be instrumental in achieving our vision.

 

What We are Looking For:

  • Expertise in strategic decision-making, aligning talent and objectives, translating strategic goals into operational plans, and addressing evolving needs.
  • Skilled in shaping operational and financial strategies, governance, risk management, and opportunity assessment across interconnected business units.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and foster strategic relationships.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in information technology or similar discipline, with postgraduate qualifications highly regarded.
  • Experience in the financial services industry and understanding of commercial, industrial, and political considerations impacting WorkCover and its stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of collaborating and influencing stakeholders to drive business outcomes, leading teams, developing strategies and business architecture, and communicating at all levels of the organisation.
