Join our dynamic Digital Engineering team on a full time fixed term 12 month contract as we embark on an enterprise-wide transformation that will enable us to continue making a positive difference to people's lives and keep Queenslanders working.

Reporting into the Quality Engineering Lead, as a Senior Quality Engineer you will play a pivotal role in transforming how we deliver services to injured workers and employers across Queensland.

In this exciting position, you'll champion quality assurance practices across our digital transformation initiatives, working alongside talented engineers to ensure our technology solutions meet the highest standards. You'll be instrumental in shaping our quality frameworks and mentoring team members while contributing to meaningful projects that directly impact Queensland workers and employers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive quality assurance strategies and frameworks across digital engineering projects
  • Design, execute and maintain automated testing solutions, ensuring robust test coverage for web applications, APIs and integrated systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish quality gates, performance benchmarks and continuous improvement processes
  • Mentor junior quality engineers and promote best practices in testing methodologies, tools and quality standards
  • Drive defect analysis, root cause identification and quality metrics reporting to support data-driven decision making

What we are looking for:

  • Extensive hands-on experience delivering enterprise-level solutions
  • Proven expertise in test automation frameworks including Karate or Playwright
  • Strong skills in API testing and CI/CD pipeline integration
  • Solid knowledge of agile methodologies and performance testing
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure preferred)
  • Natural leadership and mentoring abilities, with a focus on knowledge sharing
  • A passion for driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to influence and uplift quality practices at an organisational level
