The Dam Safety Engineer is a position available at intermediate / senior levels in the Dam Safety Intelligence Team, responsible for the ongoing monitoring and analysis of hydraulic structures in New Zealand and offshore.
What you'll do:
This is a great role to continue to develop your dam safety management skills, or to apply previous relevant experience and continue your professional development within our niche team. It will see you working in collaboration with other dam safety specialists to undertake asset inspections in the field throughout New Zealand, manage dam surveillance data, liaise with client staff, analyse and interpret data, report on dam safety status and other aspects of dam safety management systems.
The role integrates many aspects of engineering including civil, geotechnical, geological, structural, hydrological, data analysis and interpretation.
You’ll progressively work with over 70 assets of diverse designs, settings and purposes (hydropower, water supply, water treatment, flood control, recreation, and heritage).

What you'll need:
This is a great role with scope from intermediate through to senior level for someone that already has dams experience. You have a relevant qualification in Engineering (likely civil or natural resources) and ideally some working experience relevant to dams.
You will have a high level of inter-personal and presentation skills, demonstrate a high level of initiative, along with a strongly analytical and interpretative mind. Report writing skills are essential.
