The Opportunity

Reporting to the Production Engineer in the Hydrocarbons Business, this is a fixed term 12-month part-time contract working with operations and maintenance teams with the opportunity for extension or progression into Process Engineer. This role will see you contributing to a wide variety of continuous improvement projects relating to process safety systems and regulatory compliance. Additionally, you will also.

• Assist in the preparation of technical procedures, work instruction, work schedules, estimates and work method statements around work managing and optimising assets
• Support engineering, infrastructure and environment projects to deliver continuous improvement opportunities
• Plant optimisation for improved product yield and quality
• Assist in trouble shooting and investigating process failures
• Report on plant performance and product quality
• Inventory management for the site
• Ensure tasks are completed on time and budget

About You

We value teamwork, and commitment and are looking for a technically minded individual who enjoys solving problems and is willing to learn and build their skills and experience. To contribute to your success in this role, you will possess.

• An ability to develop safety procedures and standard operating procedures (SOP)
• A knowledge of risk assessment processes
• An understanding of process drawings (P&ID, PFD, etc)
• Effective communication skills with the ability to prioritise within a dynamic environment
• Solid organisational and planning skills, with high standards of accuracy and precision 
• A degree in Process / Chemical Engineering (or equivalent)
