The Opportunity
Based in Mandurah, WA, the Education & Resource Recovery Coordinator plays a vital role in delivering our sustainability education programs to local government, industry, schools and the broader community. You will engage with diverse audiences to promote recycling, waste reduction, and environmental conservation. Your ability to communicate complex sustainability concepts in an accessible and engaging way will be key to your success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver sustainability education programs tailored to different age groups and audiences.
- Collaborate with schools, community organisations, and councils to drive engagement in recycling and waste management initiatives.
- Create educational materials, presentations, and workshops that inspire sustainable practices.
- Conduct site tours, presentations, and workshops on waste management, recycling, and resource recovery.
- Monitor program effectiveness and provide feedback to improve educational outcomes.
- Represent Cleanaway at community events, workshops, and sustainability forums.
About You
Our ideal candidate is a passionate educator with an operational background, and a strong commitment to sustainability, possessing excellent communication and presentation skills. You will have the ability to break down complex environmental concepts into engaging and accessible lessons to diverse audiences.
- Passionate about sustainability and environmental education.
- Proven experience in developing and delivering educational programs or workshops.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage a variety of audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Previous experience in community engagement, sustainability, or environmental sectors is desirable.
- Able to travel, on occasion, to sites across WA.
