Exciting Opportunity for an A-Grade Electrician – Silverwater Location
We’re looking for a skilled A-Grade Industrial Electrician to join a stable, well-established team at our Silverwater site on a permanent full-time basis.
The Silverwater facility operates 24/7 and processes waste from medical, veterinary, and healthcare providers across the east coast. You’ll be working with a diverse range of industrial equipment including autoclaves, incinerators, air pollution control systems, shredders, and conveyors—offering a hands-on, technically engaging environment.
As a key member of the on-site electrical maintenance team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the ongoing safety, reliability, and performance of electrical systems and equipment across the site.
This role offers a competitive $53 per hour base rate plus a 15% afternoon shift loading, along with on-call allowances and overtime opportunities, giving you strong earning potential from day one. Working a 2:00 PM afternoon shift, this position is ideal for someone who prefers later starts and values work-life balance.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Co-ordinate and carry out electrical maintenance and preventative maintenance activities across the facility
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and safely perform electrical repairs on industrial processing equipment
- Work closely with other trades and coordinate external electrical contractors when required
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and isolation procedures
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, and tagging of electrical equipment
- Maintain accurate records and complete all required paperwork, including job logs and compliance documentation
- Take ownership of the electrical systems and infrastructure across the site
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to site reliability and efficiency
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have the following:
- Current and valid A Grade Electrical License
- Proven experience in industrial, electrical work
- Strong knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules and general electrical safety regulations
- Ability to interpret electrical plans, schematics, and technical drawings
- Experience with installations, fault finding, maintenance, and repairs
- Strong focus on workplace safety and compliance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to work overtime
- Experience with data/communications (highly regarded)
Due to the nature of this work, evidence of currency of vaccination or the willingness to receive defined vaccinations is essential. This will include, Tetanus and Hepatitis A & B.
