The Opportunity
As Project Manager - Landfills, you will be responsible for delivering a portfolio of landfill lifecycle projects across Cleanaway’s Western Australia landfill network. These projects will primarily include landfill cell construction, rehabilitation works, and associated landfill infrastructure.
Based at Dardanup West, youll be supported by a Program Manager, central PMO, and specialist technical teams. This role is focused on strong project execution, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time and within budget, and are ready for seamless handover to operations.
This is a hands-on project management role suited to someone who enjoys working in asset-intensive environments, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and delivering practical outcomes on operational landfill sites.
What you will be doing
- Managing the full project lifecycle from initiation and planning through to delivery, commissioning and handover to operations
- Delivering landfill lifecycle projects including cell construction, rehabilitation and supporting infrastructure
- Coordinating contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to deliver projects safely and efficiently
- Managing project budgets, schedules, risks and reporting in line with PMO standards and governance
- Ensuring all safety, environmental, regulatory and licensing requirements are met throughout project delivery
- Working closely with site teams, engineering, HSEQ, finance and the PMO to ensure projects are “business-ready” at handover
- Providing clear and timely updates on project progress, risks and key milestones to the Program Manager
About You
You are a delivery-focused Project Manager who is comfortable working in operational environments and enjoys seeing projects move from concept through to construction and handover. You are organised, practical and collaborative, with a strong focus on safety and compliance.
Landfill experience is preferred but not essential, candidates with transferable experience from other asset-intensive or regulated industries are encouraged to apply.
Technical capability and experience
- Demonstrated experience delivering capital, infrastructure or operational projects
- Demonstrated experience in asset-intensive or regulated environments such as waste, utilities, resources, construction or logistics
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies lifecycle including scope, cost, schedule, risk and governance
- Experience managing, influencing and engaging with contractors, consultants and cross-functional project teams at different stages of the project delivery
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, forecasting and expenditure tracking
- A demonstrated safety-first approach with a deep understanding of safety, environmental and regulatory compliance requirements across operational sites
