The Opportunity
Join our Oils and Technical Services team, a critical operation responsible for the safe collection, treatment, processing, and disposal of packaged hazardous waste and dangerous goods.
We’re seeking a hands‑on Technical Operations Manager to lead daily site operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement across people, processes, and equipment.
This role is ideal for a proactive leader with strong technical capability, operational discipline, and a commitment to safety excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Drive operational efficiencies to improve service delivery and achieve performance targets.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and licensing requirements in partnership with HSE, environmental, and engineering teams.
- Optimise equipment utilisation and identify resource needs to support operational demands.
- Oversee cost control and contribute to revenue‑enhancing operational initiatives.
- Lead and develop a skilled operations team, fostering a safe, high‑performance culture.
- Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions to strengthen site safety.
- Develop and implement chemical treatment processes, risk assessments, and operational work instructions.
About You
You’re a natural leader with a strong background in chemical processing, hazardous waste, manufacturing, or related industrial environments. You excel at improving complex processes and creating a safe, efficient, and high‑performing workplace.
You will bring:
- Proven leadership experience in operations involving hazardous or dangerous chemicals.
- Strong understanding of safety systems and demonstrated safety‑first leadership.
- Experience in chemical waste, manufacturing, or hazardous logistics.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to plan, prioritise, and deliver results in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication capability.
