The Opportunity
As Production Engineer, you will be the primary source of technical and operational expertise for Cleanaway's waste oil refinery at Wetherill Park.
Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will drive safe, compliant and efficient refinery operations while leading continuous improvement, process optimisation and site transformation initiatives that enhance performance, reliability and profitability.
- Provide technical leadership across refinery operations, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient production performance.
- Lead and support operational, maintenance and technical teams by driving accountability, capability development and a strong safety culture across the site.
- Influence and lead organisational change, helping embed operational excellence, continuous improvement and high-performance ways of working.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety and operational requirements, including EPA, Sydney Water and relevant refinery regulations.
- Lead CAPEX and OPEX improvement initiatives while contributing to forecasting, budgeting, cost management and refinery financial performance.
About You
You are an experienced process, production or refinery engineer who combines technical expertise with strong people leadership capability and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Degree-qualified Chemical, Process, Mechanical or related Engineering discipline.
- Experience in refinery, hydrocarbons, oil processing or comparable heavy industrial operations.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience across operational or technical teams.
- Strong knowledge of process safety, compliance and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with HAZOP studies, capital projects or major shutdown activities.
