The Opportunity
As Head of Equipment & Yellow Gear, you will lead the national strategy, performance and lifecycle management of one of Australia's largest and most diverse mobile plant and yellow gear portfolios.
You are a strategic leader who can balance operational performance with long-term asset planning, creating sustainable value for the business while fostering a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
Reporting to the General Manager Fleet & Logistics, you will set the long-term direction for equipment management across the business, ensuring our assets deliver maximum safety, reliability, utilisation and commercial value. This role is a key member of the Fleet & Logistics leadership team, partnering with operational, finance, procurement and maintenance leaders to optimise asset performance and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the national equipment and yellow gear strategy, including lifecycle planning, asset optimisation and long-term capital investment programs.
- Drive equipment safety, compliance, reliability and uptime outcomes, ensuring assets consistently meet operational and commercial requirements.
- Lead asset performance initiatives through the use of data, analytics and continuous improvement methodologies to reduce total cost of ownership.
- Establish and manage strategic partnerships with OEMs, suppliers and service providers to maximise service performance and commercial value.
- Lead and develop a high-performing national team while influencing stakeholders across operations, finance, procurement and executive leadership.
About You
You are an accomplished asset, equipment, or fleet leader with experience managing large-scale mobile plant, heavy equipment, or industrial asset portfolios across sectors such as waste, mining, construction, infrastructure, logistics, or heavy industry.
You combine strategic thinking with strong commercial acumen and have a proven ability to translate asset management strategies into measurable operational and financial outcomes.
You Will Bring
- Significant leadership experience overseeing large and complex equipment, yellow gear or heavy asset portfolios across multiple locations.
- Demonstrated success developing and implementing asset lifecycle, reliability and capital investment strategies.
- Strong commercial and financial capability, with experience managing budgets, business cases, asset replacement programs and supplier contracts.
- Proven ability to influence and build strong relationships with senior operational and executive stakeholders.
- Experience driving safety, compliance and risk management outcomes within an operational environment.
- A data-driven approach to decision-making, with the ability to leverage asset performance insights to improve utilisation, reliability and cost efficiency.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Asset Management, Mechanical, Business or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
