We are looking for a dedicating Chief, who supports the Deputy Director in corporate decision-making and prioritization processes, ensuring that risks are systematically identified, analyzed, and translated into actionable recommendations for resource allocation, preparedness investment, and early action. The Chief, Risk Analysis and Preparedness also supervises the Risk and Preparedness Unit, a small team of professionals working on risk analysis and preparedness within EMOPS.
Under the guidance and general supervision of the Chief, Research on Gender Equality, Rights and Protection, the Research Manager, and in close coordination with the Senior Advisor and UNICEF lead on the Prevention of Harmful Practices, within UNICEF’s Child Protection Unit, the Research Manager – Prevention of Harmful Practices will lead and manage UNICEF Innocenti’s harmful practices research portfolio.The Research Manager will provide technical leadership and strategic direction across the portfolio, manage day-to-day implementation of research activities, supervise research staff and consultants, coordinate partnerships, and strengthen evidence uptake and influence related to harmful practices globally.The role will work closely with the prevention of harmful practices focal points within the Centres of Excellence across Nairobi, Amman, and Bangkok to deliver research and evidence support.The role contributes to strengthening the focus, scale, and impact of UNICEF’s work to prevent and respond to harmful practices by ensuring that investments in research and evidence are strategically targeted, methodologically rigorous, and translated into actionable insights that improve programmes and outcomes for children.
The consultant will provide high-level strategic and technical expertise to UNICEF Bulgaria and national partners to support the sustainability, institutionalization and future scale-up of the Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) system in Bulgaria.
