The Monitoring Specialist provides technical guidance to UNICEF Myanmar to establish a streamlined programme monitoring (including HPM) system and works closely with office’s monitoring and information management officers, enabling evidence-based decision-making. As an essential part of the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation function, effective Monitoring Specialist contributes to the effectiveness and efficiency of programme implementation and supports the office in achieving its programmatic results. It also contributes to maintaining and enhancing the credibility and ability of UNICEF to fulfil Core Commitments for Children.
The consultancy will deliver defined, measurable outputs to strengthen vaccine management, logistics information systems, campaign supply-chain readiness, outbreak preparedness, monitoring and supervision, and some innovative capacity building initiatives.

The assignment will support the Climate and Disaster Risk Assessments to be conducted in the Municipalities of Villareal and Pinabacdao, Samar Province under the UNICEF-supported Climate Resilient WASH in Health Care Facilities project. The GIS assistant will to provide dedicated GIS and spatial database support for the timely preparation of:
• feature-specific risk assessments for the target BHS, RHU and associated WASH system components.
• complete, updated and editable CDRA map, database and risk table packages for Villareal and Pinabacdao.
Through the 9th Country Programme for Children (CPC9), UNICEF Philippines is collaborating with the government of the Philippines to tackle these multifaceted challenges that local health systems are facing. Building on successful support for maternal and child health and nutrition, including system-wide support on EPI, introduction of MMS, and adoption of benefit packages for SAM treatment, UNICEF Philippines is expanding its support to augment government’s efforts on strengthening i) primary health care; ii) climate adaptation in health; and iii) accelerating maternal and child health.
