Child Nutrition and Sustainable Diets Consultant, Belize City, Belize, 3 Months
|
| UNICEF Belize is seeking a qualified National or International Consultant to support strategic efforts promoting healthy and sustainable diets among school-aged children. The consultancy will lead a multi-sectoral effort—engaging ministries, partners, and civil society—to map current child nutrition interventions, identify key influencers in the food landscape, and design a Theory of Change to drive impactful programming and advocacy.
The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in nutrition, Public Health, Food Science, or a related field, and at least 15 years of experience in international development, with a strong record in sustainable diets, multi-stakeholder coordination, and strategic partnerships. Proven skills in strategy development, implementation planning, and resource mobilization are essential.
This is a 3-month consultancy, based in Belize City with travel across the country, proposed to start 15 August 2025 and ending 30 November 2025.

The Chief is responsible for managing and supervising all stages of the nutrition programme, from strategic planning and formulation to delivery of results. The Chief is also responsible for leading and managing the Nutrition team. The Chief is accountable for ensuring that concrete and sustainable results in maternal, infant and child nutrition programmes are achieved in accordance with plans, allocation, results based-management approaches and methodology (RBM), as well as UNICEF’s Strategic Plans, standards of performance, and accountability framework. |

The nutrition situation is exacerbated by food insecurity, inadequate infant and young child feeding practices, limited access to nutrition services, and recurrent health and environmental emergencies. |

| Under the supervision and guidance of the supervisor, the programme associate supports the respective section (s) by carrying out a range of programme support functions to help develop, implement and monitor their country programme, ensuring effective and timely delivery that is consistent with UNICEF rules and regulations.
The Programme Associate works in close collaboration with a range of staff in the CO, external partners and agency counterparts in support of programme design and delivery. S/He provides regular feedback on the status of projects through monitoring milestones and advises on improvements to keep activities on track. |
