| The Veterinary Care Technician III (VCT3) under minimal general supervision of the Veterinary Technician Manager (VTM) or Veterinary Technician Assistant Manager (VTAM) provide senior level veterinary technical support to ensure that Animal Care Services (ACS) goals related to research, husbandry and laboratory animal health and well-being are met. The VCT3 under the guidance and direction of the Clinical Veterinarians provides expertise in triage, assessment, treatment, surgery, behavior, sample collection, records documentation and follow up care. The VCT3 provides veterinary support and care to a wide range of species of animals including (but not limited to) mice, rats, rabbits, cats, dogs, pigs, chickens, frogs and zebra fish. The VCT3 assists in coordinating health monitoring records and schedules, receiving and housing for USDA species, and communicates with research partners and their lab members to provide and schedule care for the animals as needed. The VCT3 assists in developing and delivering teaching and training classes, wet labs and special training sessions for ACS staff, research partners and their staff and other customers, they provide expertise in compliance and quality assurance protocols and procedures.

| Reporting to the to the Facilities Services Maintenance Superintendent, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and provides technical direction to the HVAC building maintenance program including the repair, maintenance, and operation of the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and automated building control systems consisting of DDC and pneumatic controls for E&G and Health Science Center buildings. Prioritizes and coordinates requests for services, estimates labor hours and assigns work to appropriate trades people within the shop. Expedites emergency requests, coordinates all building HVAC related projects and coordinates with other trades. Oversees the performance of outside contractors for quality and workmanship, billing, and timeliness of work. Establishes and reinforces safety guidelines. Performs administrative functions such as budgeting, purchasing, ensuring accuracy of work related and payroll records, employee performance appraisals, metric reporting, and other related duties. |
