| Provides a variety of non-emergency police services (foot/vehicle) to promote security for the university community populace and facilities, to include, but not limited to conducting basic investigations, writing incident reports, and performing basic crime scene processing for non-violent crimes or activities involving trespassing, burglaries, thefts, criminal mischiefs, or sick/injured persons; providing traffic direction; patrolling through buildings, reporting suspicious activity/person(s), and clearing buildings of unauthorized persons; providing escorts when requested; ensuring doors are properly secured and/or opened upon authorized request; monitoring service drives for parking violations; assisting law
enforcement, fire department, and emergency medical agencies; and assisting in campus-wide special events.
This position is designated as an Essential Employee. Essential employees provide vital support to the University of Florida (UF) and are subject to recall to work when deemed necessary by the Chief of Police/designee. Recall to work typically happens due to an emergency, disaster, or special event that may coincide with the official suspension of classes and/or closing of offices. Employees are required to be in the work environment. |
