| Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position assists skilled tradesmen and also works
independently to perform general building trades work in maintaining building structures, systems and
equipment, and related components as part of the services provided by the Facilities Services to maintain
University buildings. Assists in inspections for designated areas and help troubleshoot, repair, and maintain
building systems. Systems include plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, flooring, and other
systems as required. This work will include routine and semi-skilled preventative maintenance and minor
repair of building structures, systems. |

| Reporting to the Facilities Services Maintenance Carpentry Shop Supervisor -- the incumbent performs carpentry building
maintenance and construction. Duties include; Installing and maintaining metal and wood doors, door frames, mortise
locks, hinges, exit devices, door closers, maintains and repairs automatic door openers, door closing units and control
gates, electric handicapped door operators & other door hardware. The incumbent will assist with repairing and finishing
drywall, plastering both textured & smooth finishes, painting, laying block, brick, stucco & marble thresholds. Installing and
repairing ceramic tile, building forms for slabs, pouring and finishing concrete. Repairing and replacing ceiling tiles, ceiling
grids, various types of flooring, vinyl tile, wall base, molding, fixed classroom seating, windows, window screens and
window frames. The incumbent supports other trades and contractors, cleans and maintains the shop and all related
equipment, reads and interprets blueprints and wall layouts, operates a UF vehicle and performs other duties as assigned. |
