| Work under limited direction of the University’s Assistant Radiation Safety Officer (ARSO). Responsible for coordinating duties associated with managing the radioactive material, x-ray, and laser safety programs for the University of Florida (UF) campus, including off-campus UF facilities throughout the state of Florida. Assists with maintaining and tracking inventory of all x-ray units, ensuring each is properly registered with the State of Florida. Assists with performing safety checks to ensure all units are functioning properly. Assist both ARSO and Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) with maintaining federal and state requirements for radiation protection, including reviewing and reporting on radiation monitoring badge data, conducting radiology/nuclear medicine patient education sessions, monitoring patient treatment areas or labs for radiation levels, and conducting radiation safety training sessions for UF staff members, students, and affiliates. Stay abreast with, and ensure compliance with, regulations and guidance affecting the health physics profession. |
