| The Veterinary Nursing Staff Supervisor will be an integral member of the team, working with their manager and doctors to provide high quality nursing care and develop the nursing team with the services. This role works closely with their manager in a collaborative relationship. Primary duties include leading and mentoring the daily operations of nursing staff as well as development of the skill and knowledge base of the team. This position acts as a working supervisor, providing oversight while working alongside their team. They will actively participate in the screening and selection of new team members and provide onboarding and training for the staff alongside their manager. They will also provide regular feedback to the nursing staff through performance evaluations and mentoring. |

This position serves as a key point of contact for the shelters and rescue groups and plays an essential role in day-to-day clinic operations through effective communication, coordination, scheduling, and customer service. In addition to client-facing and administrative responsibilities, the role includes limited assistant duties to support clinical operations as needed. VCOP is designed to expose students to the realities of veterinary practice in both community and shelter medicine settings, while supporting high-volume spay/neuter services and preventive care for canine and feline patients. |
