| The Associate Chair of Anesthesiology for Research encompasses a senior leadership role for the department dedicated to advancement through exploration, discovery and excellence in new knowledge and to nurturing this advancement in others. The efforts in research are to direct and support the preeminent vision and mission of the Department of Anesthesiology. Our research focuses on optimizing anesthetic management, critical care medicine, pain medicine, and other strategic research goals to develop applicable near or longer-term therapeutic options with the overarching goal of reducing pain, suffering, morbidity, and mortality. A challenge to the next Associate Chair will be to further enhance growth within existing nodes of excellence while also integrating the department into new opportunities not only on the academic campus, but also around the regional healthcare network and State of Florida. |
