The University of Florida (UF) is embarking on a campus-wide strategic initiative to hire clusters of faculty members with expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI), broadly defined. As part of this initiative, the Department of Neurosurgery is seeking qualified applicants for a tenure-track faculty position focusing on AI applications in brain tumor diagnosis, treatment, and/or health outcomes. Additionally, applications for neurosurgical diseases, i.e. cerebrovascular disease, primary and metastatic tumors treated by stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), etc. where data science, machine learning, and AI applications may improve diagnosis, treatment, and/or disease prevention are of interest. The Lillian S. Wells Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Florida, College of Medicine is committed to providing comprehensive clinical services for the diagnosis, management, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients suffering from diseases of the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system, including brain tumors, aneurysms, stroke, epilepsy, functional disorders, and spinal disorders and injuries. Our clinical care mission also extends throughout North Central Florida through regional neurosurgery programs. We offer the full spectrum of neurosurgical and neuro-oncology treatment options for both adults and pediatric patients. Our research labs and investigator-led initiatives and clinical trials are developing promising new treatments for neurological diseases that are extremely difficult to treat with conventional therapies. The Department of Neurosurgery offers education and training programs such as ACGME-accredited neurosurgery residency programs and fellowship programs.

The Division of Epilepsy in the Department of Neurology at University of Florida announce an outstanding new faculty opportunity for an early-career epilepsy neurologist with solid clinical skills and an established research interest. The candidate will join a well-established epilepsy group comprising 5 full-time and 3 part-time adult neurologists and one faculty neuroscientist, complemented by 3 advanced practice nurses and supported by neurosurgery, neuropsychology, neuropathology and neuroradiology that together comprise the UF Comprehensive Epilepsy Program. The incoming candidate is guaranteed at least 0.2 FTE protected research time for a 2-year period upon hire. The Solt lab focuses on understanding how a superfamily of ligand-regulated transcription factors, termed nuclear receptors, influence T cell development, function, and chronic inflammatory diseases. Our goals are two-fold: 1) better understand how nuclear receptors function in immunity, and 2) develop and characterize small molecule ligands that modulate nuclear receptor function to determine their therapeutic value.
