The incumbent must have the ability to coordinate multiple projects at a high level of performance, accuracy, and speed. Postdoctoral Researcher in Seismic Signatures of Wave-Dune Transfer 16240000 - LS-GEOLOGY Main Campus (Gainesville, FL)
We are launching an interdisciplinary effort to quantify how ocean waves transmit energy into coastal dunes and how that energy interacts with sediment properties, vegetation, water-table dynamics, and tides. A central goal is to integrate these observations with process-based numerical models to predict and explain morphological change of coastal dunes. The postdoc will design and deploy small seismic arrays across beach–dune transitions and integrate seismic observations with pressure/wave sensors, vegetation and morphology mapping, and UAS/drone flyovers. Initial tests will occur near St. Augustine/Matanzas Inlet (FL), with opportunities to expand to other Florida sites as the program grows.
